State sanctioned secrecy: NSA’s criminality shield

Americans should not have to rely on whistleblowers to reveal our government is targeting us for unconstitutional surveillance behind a shield of secrecy. Nor should executive branch bureaucrats be able to conceal their misconduct behind false claims that exposing their ineptitude or criminality would involve “compromising sources and methods.”
